St. John the Baptist Parish Church

The St. John the Baptist Parish Church was founded in the middle of the 14th century. With the increasing number of the Frýdek citizens, the existing bay and chapel of St. Ann, St. Cross, St. John of Nepomuk and the Virgin Mary were added to the church. The 72 meters high St. John’s observation tower is a part of the parish church and is one of the features dominating the city. We recommend stepping up to the top of the observation tower which offers a great view of Frýdek-Místek and Beskydy panorama.

Farní kostel sv. Jana Křtitele byl založen v polovině 14. století. Vzrůstem počtu obyvatelstva ve Frýdku se k původnímu kostelu přistavěla nynější kostelní loď a kaple sv. Anny, sv. Kříže, sv. Jana Nepomuckého a Bolestné Panny Marie. Svatojánská vyhlídková věž vysoká 72 metrů je součástí farního kostela.
